90 Spec Side Skirts

Hi all,

I have 5 door small bumper with the vynal sticker side skirts. Does any one know if the 90 spec skirts will fit?

If they do does anyone one know where I can get them?

they will fit any mk2, but you also need to change the arches and the rubbing strips. dont forget to buy a fitting kit. gsf used to sell the arches and skirts, big boys toys did too but i think 1 side skirt is discontinued now. both places iirc did the fitting kits as well.  or look on ebay for 2nd hand.  vw still stock the fitting kits but again 1 side skit deleted. think they still sell all 4 arches tho

Ive just taken off the arch trim and side strips and smothed it will this caurse any problems?

you wont get the skirts on without the arches, find a piccy of a 90spec gti and it'll be obvious why!  side strips you dont have to fit though, can just snap the front wing bit off. leaves a slight gap though which isnt that noticable, tho a bit of carefull plastic welding and some smoothing would make it less visible

I understand what you mean, I wanted to keep the arches off to keep its all smooth. I can see that this is not going tobe an option for me with original VAG parts.

Would there be an aftermarket side skirt that would do the job?

i cant think of any off hand which dont also come with an arch kit, you can get vinyl stickers for the sills which was std on the pre-90 GTI?
