lol at all the people thinking a 150Bhp boat is a supercar.

Ive owned a mk4 2.0 GTI a while back, better than the peugot I owned before it, super comphy, not bad on fuel, cheapish to insure and looks nice sat on the drive.

Leave the man alone. I had a 2.0 MK4 before I got the MK5 for the exact reason as him, couldn't afford the insurance on a 1.8T. The engine as said is terrible and not worthy of a GTI badge, but the rest of the car is brilliant.

Really depends on your budget but Id lower it and get some nice wheels on it. LMs and CHs I think look best on a MK4. Also head over to the MK4 section as there is a massive thread of peoples cars that could inspire you a little.

Welcome to the forum.

Congratulations on your new purchase, hopefully give you plently of trouble free miles.

Can't go wrong with a wee bit lower, wee bit smoother lines, tasty set of wheels to set it all off.

I wouldn't use wheel spacers if you could possibly avoid it, not an ideal solution. Also if insurance is an issue you may wish to go for OEM wheels just from a diffent model. You need something in a 5x100 iirc. 18x8. If your uncle works for vw you could be in prime position to go OEM+ if he can pass on his discount etc Failing that here are some links

Reckon t hese would set off a mk4 with a 40mm drop...

Don't forget a decent stereo if your travelling alot. Alpine=

You don't own a Mk2, you support it.
