...WELL! I picked my new Jazz Blue Pearl MK4 2.0 GTI up today.

Corrected for you.  WOW 115 bhp.

Like all before, should have got the 150 bhp 1.8.

why does everyone on here need to have the most super fast car in the world.

yeah its the 2.0, its the slowest of the GTI's, not everyone can afford to insure a 150bph car, i certainly couldnt i was only 18 at the time of buying the car and end of the day, it will see off quite a few cars on the road and the limit is 70, standard theres only about a 3 second difference between 0-70 times.

but the point is it pointlessly drinks fuel so your better off with a 1.8 non turbo.. still can be made to look nice though.

The difference in insurance between a 150bhp 1.8T and my 2.0 is less than £20!

Fair point, wouldn't be so bad if it was a considered purchase, advice etc....

WOW! I didn't realise this was GolfGTI1.8150BHPOnlyForum.co.uk? I thought it was for Golf GTI enthusiasts?!

The difference on insurance for me is a minimum of £1000 - bearing in mind I'm 24 years old so alot of companies wont even quote me for insurance for this car, and I also have 3 points due to being stupid when I first passed my test...and the 2.0 is plenty fast enough for me - considering since 2003 I've been driving a 1.0 Yaris, and then for the last six months while the Yaris was off the road, I've had a 1.4 Focus with the tappits gone - leaving me with pretty much NO power at all... and a car that was on/off the road all the time.

Nothing is going to make me feel like I made the wrong decision about buying this car - it was an offer that doesn't come along very often, especially to me, and whoever said it was clocked - far from it love...thankfully my Uncle has been a VW Dealer for as long as I've been alive and it's all genuine mileage, or I wouldn't have bought it. I may be female, but I'm not stupid. I don't pick a car because it's a pretty colour..

Whether it's as fast as the 1.8 is irrelevant - I've been looking for a Golf GTI for near on a year now, and not found one that I liked with mileage even close to mine within my budget - so for me, it's perfect, and as I'm the one driving it, surely it's my opinion that matters most?!

And as for me having a big wallet to pay for the fuel due to doing alot of miles - alot of my mileage is paid for due to running my own business etc and I'd rather pay a bit more for fuel knowing I'm driving a car that I feel safe in, then carry on driving a shed like my soon to be sold Ford Focus which actually is running at about 20mpg so is actually costing me more to run than the Golf.

To those who made positive comments instead of "you should have bought..." or "GTI" - thank you.
But whether I'm driving a car with 115BHP or 150BHP shouldn't matter, I'm not interested in doing Track Days or anything like that, and as for driving on main roads, I'd rather keep my driving license, thanks.

That was me, calm down dear, it was a joke, was shocked how low the mileage is.
