...WELL! I picked my new Jazz Blue Pearl MK4 2.0 GTI up today.

Corrected for you.  WOW 115 bhp.

Like all before, should have got the 150 bhp 1.8.

why does everyone on here need to have the most super fast car in the world.

yeah its the 2.0, its the slowest of the GTI's, not everyone can afford to insure a 150bph car, i certainly couldnt i was only 18 at the time of buying the car and end of the day, it will see off quite a few cars on the road and the limit is 70, standard theres only about a 3 second difference between 0-70 times.

The difference in insurance between a 150bhp 1.8T and my 2.0 is less than £20!

Maybe for you. The difference for me is about £1000...

Nothing is going to make me feel like I made the wrong decision about buying this car - it was an offer that doesn't come along very often, especially to me, and whoever said it was clocked - far from it love...thankfully my Uncle has been a VW Dealer for as long as I've been alive and it's all genuine mileage, or I wouldn't have bought it. I may be female, but I'm not stupid. I don't pick a car because it's a pretty colour..

That was me, calm down dear, it was a joke, was shocked how low the mileage is.

Yeah got a bit caught up in the moment...lol... :) long days + very little sleep for the last 3 weeks = horrendous temper!

ill say as a new vdubber myself i know where ur coming from on the whole insurance front...i had to bite the bullet myself...i was going to whole hog or not at all, bought a 1.8T and im paying 2300 a year for the privelege so whos the fool there lol i must have an allergy to money! as for mods, simple ones first i reckon, debadge it, all you need it a card of some sort and a soft lint free cloth and some thinners or petrol to take the remaining sticky sh!te off the tailgate, sometimes tho it does look nice stock in terms of badges so its pretty much whatever ur into with that one, but...simple and cheap! set of alloys is always good but usually quite pricey for anything half decent..i got 18" ACE webbs on mine atm....getting new ones exactly the same just 19" soon..definately slam it on its tiny little hoop...if it aint scrubbin, it aint dubbin! remove the unsightly ariel from the roof and get a powered cable fitted on the inside round your windscreen, thats a nice and fairly cheap one too. soundsystem for your own personal enjoyment...uprated door speakers are a must and will no doubt set you back about 160 quid for the good ones unless your running them off an amp and you can go a little more powerful and yes more expensive..a set of AIWA speakers will kick fairly hard and should set you back about 130 quid with fitting...the joey mod is another great one for you to get involved with modifying your car yourself and again cheap...i would however have the money together to buy new lights incase you mess it up lol, im doing that one myself at the end of the month :D theres all sorts...thats the beauty of the mk4. Soooooo many things can be done to them! enjoy the journey! ;)

This thread really isn't fair on a new dubber, they have bought a car there happy with and y'all seem determined to make them un-happy with it.

I totally agree I mean a new VW owner comes on to say hello and gets nothing but grief cause there cars not a 1.8 T. OK its ok to give a little gentle hazing but things go too far and its a wonder they even bother to log back on.

Ignore all the comments mate, welcome to the site.
And lets face it, 150bhp is hardly a performance car anyway

Get used to the abuse, you'll get a lot of it for:

Being a fleamale
Having a MK4
Having a 2.0
