glad to see things are still looking up... I say don't worry about it for now... keep on with what you're doing and take it for a drive when you can and see how it is then maybe?

I got it all back together today and took it for a run around the block :smiley: :smiley: :smiley:
Runs well, sounds good, sounds very good - lovely 6 cylinder roar, temperature gauge stayed right in the middle, but.............

When I got back I lifted the bonnet and the coolant level has come up by around 15mm looking at the side of the reservoir :sad:
I'm going to let it cool down now and see if there is a loss of coolant, I suspect there is.
When I checked the level this morning after it had cooled down overnight it had dropped a little but then that could have been air in the system anyway.

I think that tomorrow morning I will nip down to Halfords and pick up some of this K-seal that has been recommended......can't hurt to put it in and if nothing else it should keep it going for a while so that I can assess what will need doing in the future.

Got another problem with the poxy immobiliser on it. It has a mind of its own. Sometimes the windows come down when you go to unlock/disarm and also left side indicators stay permanently on whether locked or not. It was OK when I connected the battery this morning but now I can't get them to switch off :angry: Need to find a way to permanently disarm the immobiliser methinks. It looks like an aftermarket piece of junk anyway :angry:

Cool, at least you got to take for a run with no major drama's.... Do you know what alarm system is fitted to the car?... As you know my clifford was fooked.  Even before the crash it started to play silly beggers so gave up on it then... Most systems have a valet mode.... I found out how to enable mine which prevented it from auto-arming etc and allowed me to use a key like the car originally required!

Valet mode.....yes that would be ideal and then I can take the poxy key fob off completely and just use the key.
Looking at the fob it appears to be a Volkswagen one......writing on it is a bit of a giveaway :huh:



Which surprises me as the horn/siren etc., look very aftermarket :undecided:

Left button appears to arm/lock - disarm/unlock. Haven't got a clue what the right button does. There is also a small screw exposed there......some sort of adjustment? Plus a slider switch on the side. Anyone able to help?

Does the siren say Scorpion on it anywhere as this is what I belive they had around that time?

Sorry or it may say something like 998 VAG 513, numbers may vary... but i believe scopian made the systems but they are no longer supported....

Have a read through THIS thread as the indicators staying on issue is covered and resolved and also methods on how to reset the system... nothing on valet mode though.  don't think it had one.

VAG and it's not connected although connecting it doesn't seem to make any difference :huh:



..........and I can't get these to switch off now:-



I've tried disconnecting the battery a few times and pressing the buttons on the fob :sad:

read my above post... thats a Scorpian alarm I believe... unplugging the siren wont do anything, there is a brain somewhere else with everything wired to that.
