Stupid insurrance

I just got a quote for a 1 litre mk2 for the missus as she's starting to learn to drive.

This is a 1984 3dr 1.05L mk2 valued at ?200

For her to insure it it's ?830
for me to insure is with her named it's ?830
for me to insure my 20vT mk2 (valued at ?6000) it's ?650

Where's the logic in that! I know i have 2 years ncb and all that, but mine's value is 30 times higher and the engine puts out probably 5 times the BHP lol.

No wonder learners all go on their parents insurrance!

the joys of being over 25 with full ncb the downside is grey hair loads of kids and a house!! :grin:

over 25 (ish) with grey hair.. i'm 29 and still not goin grey! (and no i'm no gonna go bald!)

the logic is very simple - they know what you are trying to do.

its a false economy to use your parents insurance from the start. take it on the nose and start building the ncb.

that pish cheap. ive insurance of ?2776 to my for a mk 2 driver and that is the joys of livin in N. Ireland for you. id love the insurance of ?650 on a 20v T.

i got banned once and now pay ?1400 on me mk1 gti, thats 3rd party! not good! fair one i shouldn't have been a naughty boy in the first place!
