« on: 24 November 2010, 14:04 »
hi all,

I have this http://www.thebassbin.co.uk/product.php?id=749 JBL GTO 6526e in my car (all 4) running from http://reviews.cnet.com/in-dash-car-stereos/alpine-cde-9850ri-radio/1707-6729_7-31848244.html Alpine CDE-9850Ri would it be better to use an amp?

CD Player is 50 x 4
Speakers are: 180 W RMS
Thank you

Sharki

the speakers are only 60rms (180 watts is peak power so ignore that)
yes you will be fine running off the stereo but personally i would fit an amp as the h/u power quoted is max power which actually equates to around 4x12 rms

i might aswell get an amp for them, but theres also 4 power acoustic tweeters in the car. i have a budget of £50-£70 on a 4 channel amp or is that too less?
p.s these are the tweeters http://www.google.co.uk/products/catalog?hl=en&q=power+acoustik+tweeters&sqi=2&cid=15311031687616493784&ei=864GTf3zI5XIwAXv9vjqDA&sa=title&ved=0CAcQ8wIwADgA#p

might not use it, might just get a jbl gto 4060 instead at 80 squids! 4 channel amp 55w rms per channel, just had a look again "discontinued"  my jbl speakers are 60 w rms will that be fine? or do i need a 60+ w rms per channel amp?

you ideally want an amp that will do around 30-60 rms per channel at 4ohm to run the speakers well
