Hids on Mk6 do fit? ***Yes They Do!
« on: 09 November 2010, 18:53 »
Ordered a set of 5000k hids from hids4u. Had a look about some other mk6 golf forums (slag) today and found you can fit them after all! Headlights need removed to do so is the only downside so back off with the front bumper! Just posted this to let others know it can be done somehow so will let you know how it get on.

You're fitting xenon lights into a halogen headlight?  :undecided:

Expect to get flashed by a lot of people when the light scatters all over the place. PC plod might have something to say too.

Nearly as annoying as people who drive with their fog lights on.

Asker - The Bi Xenons were working out to be too dear, getting to the stage I can't justify spending that much on lights when it could be spent elsewhere i.e. the house. This opition will keep me satisfied and at a 1/10th of the price.

It is H7R bulbs I have got, designed for reflector housing, same as Civic GT's and Renault Lagunas etc. Dont worry I wont be blinding people, ran this set up on my Polo for 2 and a half years without any problems, people flashing or failing MOT. Went for the 5000K to keep it away from naff looking cheap HIDs that people fit and look OEM as possible!

HID lights – Specifically those aftermarket kits that give the very bright headlight beams. Any cars found with these kits will be an automatic MOT failure. Testers are able to easily spot the difference between HID kits, and manufacturer fitted Xenon’s. Easy to spot as Xenon cars have suspension level sensors, in car beam adjuster, and usually headlight washers.
