I have recently bought a 2004 Golf GT FSI 2.0.
When on idle, it sounds like a diesel (which I know is normal) and the engine seems to move around a bit under the bonnet - it sometimes causes some vibrations in the car (not always though).
I've heard it's supposed to be normal, but it's SO annoying when sitting in traffic! Is there anyway to smooth out the idle? Perhaps the MAF sensor could do with a clean/replace?
There's no probs with the car, no warning lights, it always starts and has just had the Cambelt, water pump and tensioner changed plus a long life service. I also always fill it with premium unleaded...
Done just over 44,000 miles.
My old MK4 GTI did the same thing so I assume it's normal, but it's just so annoying, I really want to find a way to stop it vibrating.
