why whats up with your cab hat its not reliable, i was thinkin of offering my my g60 for it plus a bit my way

Anybody that spends 4 grand on restoring a Beetle, and btw a recon engine only costs about 800 notes, and then wants to sell it is nuts! So i wouldnt buy a car from them!

Stick to the Cab.

Old Beetles are notorious for electrical fires - so unless its been fully rewired in that mega expensive recon again dont touch it!

the cabs just got issues, mainly with the alarm. the problem is it NEEDS to be driven every 3-4 days which currently in my final yr at uni i dont... so the battery goes flat if it isnt driven, the clifford using the juice...

oh well fingers crossed for a buyer... G60 or no G60 dan

So does it just need a new alarm? how long has the clifford been on? and ud be interested in my g60 would u?

Richard, your cab looks wicked and you've spent a boat load on it, alarm problems are the final hurdle, worst comes to the worst then bite the bullet, rip the alarm out and get a new and better one fitted, how's much is a dogs danglies alarm ! ?400 ? Or swap it for a G60 or whatever but I wouldn't go the beetle route, I think you'll regret it personally.

the engine pic is quite clear its been resorted... 4k job is quite alot.... i think it might have had a a new engine...

sorry but 4k for a rebuild is nothing. barely scratching the surface. a decent rebuild is easily more than ?4k. a new engine? probably reconditioned and is close to worthless.

if your battery goes flat in 3-4 days then there is something wrong with it and you need to try a new battery.

my 16v is stored for 3-4 weeks at a time, has a battery which is too small - only a bit bigger than an AA battery, is only used for maybe an hour when it is let out and starts first time everytime. i know of other cars like my 827 that can last for about 2-3 weeks before they go flat so 3-4 days is a sign something is wrong with the battery.

Maybe I'm just being a d*ck then. I have taken it to a clifford dealer before and they desensitised it, but it still went flat within a week. I'll make a few calls etc...

Im not really enthusiastic about the beetle, however good conditon.

anyone recommend alarm people in berkshire or north west region?

The Beetle has got Black Vinal interior (Looks like Leather) with White piping, Black carpet with black mats, quick shift gears (Gear changes are really close together) and Smooth dash. In 2003 it was basicly turned into a brand new beetle.. everything was replaced and uprated!! The current engine has done approx 500miles but the car reads around 70,000 before the engine was replaced, it's called an AC Super Green 1600cc. I have all the reciepts of Restoration.
