I loved the way this question has been completely ignored. I wanted to share my ignorance too, but in a slightly sillier way.

I'm sure some of the Motorsport specialists will oblige...but with a decent dog 'box being the best part of £6000, I can't see a fully sequential 'box leaving you with much change from £10,000-15,000.
Probably why nothing this side of a full works Kit Car/Circuit Car has ever had one fitted.

You can buy a sequential shifter that uses your existing gearbox and two cables but operates in the same fashion as a sequential shifter. Not cheap though and no experience of whether they work well or not.

They work...but in order to use the gearbox like a sequntial - that is clutchless, on full throttle (or with a slight lift) - you will need the SQS dog engagement gearkit that goes with it.
I can't see the point of a push-pull selector on a synchro gearbox where the synchros are the weak link anyway.

RobT on Club GTI runs a full SQS set up (SQS H Pattern dog 'box with SQS sequential shifter) in hias Ibiza.

Very expensive and unless you're competing for every second in competition a luxury you can do without.

Having said that I would have one if I had endless amounts of cash.

So what?

The verdict is that it's a very very expensive thing to do, and it's something that unless you are looking to get into competition, it's not really worth doing.
