« on: 04 October 2010, 19:28 »
    Got some jbl direction 6.5" for my doors.{2 door model}+ the adapters. But it apears that the mounts already in the car are pop riveted to the door panel.{not the card, but the steelish looking plate bolted to the door}.Was thinking , How the fook do i get them off to put the new ones on???? Maybe its just me but that seems daft. Why is it riveted like this? Now am a complete novice when it comes to cars, why does everthink i try to do, turn out to be an apparent mission? oops sorry didnt mean to rant, so how do i get them off please?

 thx all               DrewiD

Hi

ive just fitted some JBL's in my doors yesterday!

You have to drill the rivets out

Then with the new adaptors i made some new holes in the metal plate with a 4mm drill bit and screwed the adaptor into them (bit of a bodge job i know but im only a novice DIY'er)

The speaker adaptor is on pretty solid i only used 2 screws on it opposite eachother

I thought it was gonna be a pain but once i did the drivers door, the passenger one took 10 minutes
