Mk4 Golf or Touran HU wiring - always on?
« on: 02 October 2010, 22:14 »
Hi all,

I've just installed a Kenwood headunit (BT8044UY) into my wife's Touran and for some odd reason it doesn't come on and off with the ignition. It's late now and I haven't checked the power outputs with a multimeter, but I was just wondering if anyone had seen the same.

I have a Kenwood 5240bt in my Audi and that works as expected, i.e as when you remove the ignition key, the headunit powers off.

I've tried switching over the red and blue leads but nothing changes.

There are two not connected pins on the adapter which I assume are the illumination (shame as that would have been nice) and i'm guessing is the other is the GALA connection.

Anyone had this?

thanks

Touran is canbus based isn't it?   Won't you need a canbus adaptor?  :undecided:
