Thanks both, it will never fix right, but I suppose I'll have to live with it. I went back to work today to find out one guys 16 year old son had been badly beaten and seperately another guys 55 year old brother was knocked unconcious and had his bottom lip split in two, both in completely unprovoked attacks by youths.
What a terrible place we live!

Where did these atrocities take place, if you don't mind me asking.

That is so sickening...What is with some people.  Hope you get it sorted.  I remember my MK4 Golf GTI in black was keyed in a hotel car park...both sides

I just do not understand jealousy like that.

Pure scum fella, I'll always remember when I caught a little prick trying to break in to the second mk2 I owned, going back some 13 or so years.  The car was immaculate up until that point, I used his head to put a bloody great dent in the rear quarter then finished of with taking my n/s wing mirror of with the help of his head as well.  Little bar steward I wish I carried on.

Absolutely love this..if only 13 years ago you could have captured this type of thing on youtube, I'm sure that would go some way into making anyone who has gone through that experience a little better.

this kind of sh1t winds me up.  what part of the world are you in?  trouble is it seems to happen everywhere even in nice places - my brother used to live in cambridge and had his 911 keyed, dented, windscreen wipers pulled off in car parks etc - utter c7nts - and that was fooking cambridge!  its all down to jealousy.  they should have their hands chopped off.

As a car enthusiast I obviously share your comments guys.

Driving a smart, well looked after car is a constant worry for me and it shouldn't be.

I don't have a garage and leave the motor on the road so I can see it from my flat window in north London.

The other night my missus says, "Do you know there are 3 lads sat on your bonnet?"

Rushing to the window I watched as 3 Asbo-prone posers slouched across taking photos of themselves with their mobiles.

Rather than making a fuss I just let them get on with it thinking that if I run after them they would probably come back and mark my car.

It seems that nothing is safe and unfortunately we can only do so much to protect our cars.

As sad and wrong as it is, but letting them got on with it was the right thing to do.

Agreed - there was no damage done.

Interestingly, I managed to leave my drivers side window open all night on Thursday only realising the next morning.  Probably just a lack of attention.

However do you guys ever use the thing where you keep your thumb on the open button of the key?  I have found on occasions that I come back to a car with all the windows slightly opened.

A little further North than you Snoopy over the water, but the same neck of the woods. A mate I visit often is in your area.

The young lad I mentioned had reconstructive surgery on his nose the other day, but the news on the older chap is that he has turned into an old man overnight. These bastards don't realise, or don't care about the damage they do to peoples lives. No-one to control things anymore - I can't remember the last time I saw a policeman around here. It's a country wide problem though, not just a regional one

Nothing is safe or sacred.
At times it feels like a losing battle: Danger from the public, unhelpful dealers and manufacturers etc, etc. One loses the will to live.
