Match my Components...

Hey all,

Im currently running my Vibe Black Air 6 Components off the back of my Alpine CDE-104bti

I can't get any volume without them distorting so adding a new amp ASAP

I have two questions:

1. Will this amp power my components sufficiantly without any distorting, their RMS is 125w @ 4ohms

2. The distortion I'm getting atm, is this due to underpowering? My HU pushes 50w per channel??

Mate. 125w RMS is going to make you deaf ...

Im running 40w RMS Alpine Door Speakers, and powered by a cheap Kenwood amp at the full whack, is deafening! and the clarity is amazing.

The amp you chosen will do the job nicely.

What I recommend you do is, SOLDER the connections from your door speakers to the amp. As any audiophile will tell you, soldering is essential!

Volume has to do with cone area, displacment, sensitivity, power and the frequency bandwidth you use them in.

OP Your door speakers maybe getting too much low frequency information and trying to produce sounds below there resonance frequency and distorting.

That amp you linked too the spec says 100w RMS per channel and will give you more volume.

I would recomend you look for a 4 channel amplifier with built in highpass and low pass filters. Then highpass filter your front components off this amp and buy a sub and send it the low frequency. This will allow you to have more volume out of the front speakers before they distort.

Dub. sh!t bro. I'm running 2x300wrms up front atm. When I get my new amp I'll be running 2x740wrms on the mids and between 100-300wrms on tweeters (although tweeter gain will be low). Plus as long as connection are good soldering or crimping will do the job.

Well I must be a pussy then ... because I can't hack 40w RMS.

Mind you I think having gone to Fabric in london one too many times and standing next to their speakers for 4 hours straight has a part to do with my sensitive ears loool

Yeah maybe baby.

I've never been a big club fan but love it loud in the car.

It does depend on the freq though. 40W high up is god knows how much louder than low down.
