Well today marks 3 years and 1 day of ownership
Covered 44,400 miles since buying it so here goes a little summary of those miles
As a mile muncher there is little to touch it. It cruises with ease at 'speed', its comfortable (compared to a lowered MK4 its a carpet ride despite it being an S Line!), practical and well built. Its covered nearly 40,000 miles running 200bhp+ without any issues; theres's been no hose pipe popping in this one
In terms of maintenance its had 4 services and a set of rear brake pads and is on the third set of tyres Fronts are still running the original discs and pads!!! Though the pads are getting low.......
When you want to push on however and enjoy yourself is its biggest let down. The steering lacks feel at low - medium speeds. There's no question it grips, its just you're never quite sure if the wheels are obeying your steering inputs
its only at speed that the steering weights up and provides some decent level of feedback. Might investigate mods to help this but I'm not sure I can be bothered as I did say I wouldn't modify this one (much)
So to sum up its easily the best car I have owned but then I've only owned 3 cars
Its now a question of how long it stays with me...........
