I went down that route. They cannot return the part for a full refund. 20% loss. Then I'd have to pay for the bumper (if it seems ok & we would only know this once paint is applied)
I'm not with you here! If its a moulding fault like you stated and nothing to do with paint not adhering to it, why would you only know once the paint has been applied? You would surely see the fault without the paint?!?
I'm with dustybones on this. Get them to order it and if it is faulty, reject it there and then. If not, you have your proof.
Will your dealer insist you pay upfront? I know mine doesn't.
As I have already mentioned, it cannot be ordered, it cannot be done as I will have to pay upfront. I will therefore have to wait for the Warranty Claim to be processed for which VW are giving me endless trouble.
It is a moulding fault, Warranty Manager says so, Bodyshop says so, VW says the moulding fault is standard on all GTis. Hence the whole saga.
