No Beading

Gave the car a polish and wax lastweekend, second time its been done and i have noticed that i dont get any good beading after it rains or in the mornings with the condensation. I use AG HD wax with it superb, used it on my Polo and it would last for ages with a nice beading effect but this is not the case with the Golf, it just looks dull and unwaxed     Is it maybe down to the fact its not metalic paint? This is the first non metalic car i have owned.

I got pretty good beading with AGHD on my tornado red but i've switched now to Dodo which gives better beading, easier to apply and remove and smells much nicer!

Not a lover of AGHD, especially for the price.

Your not applying wax to the paint. Your applying it to the clearcoat.

What do you mean applying it to a clear coat?

He just means that all cars are now painted with a clear coat over the base colour whether metallic or not.

So it is actually the clear coat you are polishing. 

I have had two tornado red Golfs now and when polished they almost look wet, maybe it's the type of wax/polish you are using.

dam that is true maybe its the grease stuff they put on for transport. Time to strip every thing off then i guess

All that will have been removed before you took delivery. Maybe try a different wax? Try either Meguiars Deep Crystal Carnauba wax or NXT Tech 2.0. Both of these give a great shine and water beads off superbly.
I've just sent for some Collinite 476S to see how that compares - reviews give it top marks for shine and beading

I have used Collinite 476S and can confirm it is excellent, excellent beading, great shine and seems to last for ages
Great for the Monzas during the winter months..
