the bolts are 'BZP' high tensile steel, i was advised that they would be strong enough, opinions welcome though?

They need to be at least 10.8 grade, 12.9 if you can get them, check and see what is stamped on the bolt head.

Would be a ball ache removing them every time if you had different offset wheels for winter though!  :grin:

Think the reason this isn't done more often is simply down to the ....simplicity........ of adding spacers on the wheel side. Obviously cant do anything of this sort if you need to adapt the PCD though. Still, good thinking!  :smiley:

The other thing is you putting a lot of stress on the stub axle bolts.

surely its less stress than wheel bolts though as it would get all the same forces except they all have to go through the wheel bolts first

the bolts i have are rated 8.8, any recommendations on where to get better ones? when i was looking for them no where seemed to list the rating

In all seriousness mate, I really wouldn't drive it with those bolts fitted. 8.8 are soft as sh!t!
