What age is yours? the earlier ones are only single point injection where as mine is a multipoint which apparently makes a huge difference.

thats kinda what I meant, didnt mean to sound rude :P
The money it will take to see any improvement on a 1.4 will be much better spent on a bigger engine, and will probably be cheaper. An 8v GTi cant be that much to insure?

I just searched a quick CompareTheMarket search on a GTI, just to give a brief idea. Said it was worth £1000, and was kept in a garage.

Deposit: £523.37
Instalments:
(11 x £371.14)

Total: £4605.91
£4,051.28

The guys are right. getting it looking cool is 100 times better unfortunately, but I know where your coming from. I still drive pretty hard due to running a fast bike for a coupla years and get frustrated at the lack of acceleration, but also at the same time its in the back of my head I know i'm not gonna get banned or something stupid for going massively fast.

Makes up for it though when people stare at you going past and you can't help but grin at the 14year old hoodrats going wooaah cool car as you drive past. Silly blind fools, they have so much to learn

Thats just lol! never thought it would be that much

Things like job etc affect the quote, did you say you were a student or anything?
I said i do 7k a year mileage, kept in a private car park, 27 year old warehouseman with 2 years ncb. best price was £500 odd. Had a mess about on there when I was looking for after my conversion, ticked pretty much every box under modification, and still got quoted £1010 :P
