« on: 19 July 2010, 15:46 »
Has anyone used Revo for an imob defeat and a stage 2 remap? How much was it all together?
I know its £350+vat for the remap but not sure what the extra cost is for the imob defeat

You don't need to change ignition barrel. You need to recode the ECU using vag-com and vag-tacho.

I think you need more than that to crack the codes.

Nope, vagtacho gets the code for the clocks then vagcom lets you rewrite it. It's how Topher and Nick sorted out my ECU when I had to change it (MAJOR!!! Thanks to them for taking a big diversion to help me out).

Cannot help but think a mk4 is different might be wrong however.

khare on a mk3 the immobiliser is a separate box, not in the clocks.  the mk4 has it built into the clocks.  I dont think the mk3 immob box is compatible with mk4 ecus, but could be wrong.

you can deffo get an immob defeat done for cheaper than that though, few guys on ed38 mentioned they got it done for £80, I'll see if i can find the threads.

edit: ok after a quick look apparently AMD and Jabba sport can do it for you
