I had the all too common problem in December of stalling. After a new ECU and Fuel Pump relay replaced the crank sensor and that sorted it. I used a GSF one that was £40 odd as genuine was £180!! That sorted it out and been spot on since.
Yesterday it stalled again, usual symptom oil light loss power. Went to a mate to plug into computor and found out AFM was knackered, replaced that and car going great now as could be a bit lumpy before. Also found a loose spark plug that was actually rotating along with the lead as engine running. Would either of these cause the stalling???
The computor showed an intermitant crank sensor fault, but when I replaced it in December I didn't get fault reset so we didn't know if it was still from then or a new fault. He reset it so if it happens again we'll know new fault. I took it on a 30min drive today at 60mph and it was fine, stopped for fuel and drove another 15mins home.
Could the GSF sensor be crap and would I be as well getting a genuine one? Heading off on hols next week and have to do about 500miles with Mrs and baby so don't want be worrying.
Cheers dudes
