I agree, Len. Less chance of weakening the arch and/or encouraging corrosion.

Agreed, I trimmed a tiny amount from the rear arches on my mk3 but not this much.

It'll be fine... It's not as if it's structural. It's only weaker in as much as it won't necessarily cope with fat ar53s leaning on it as much as it used to.

Anyway, these things are grateful for weight loss at the best of times, every little helps.

Just make sure it's super clean inside and apply waxoyl or similar on the inside edges.  Paint won't cut it.

 love the comments. If i may remind you at the 1st page, it clearly states this car is a Cat C write off anyway and i will also be selling it before the end of the year, but will be keeping the wheels. One side was bent up but i figured removing them would be better, it hasn't affected it's structral strength, it's only 5mm and it's double skinned.

Don't worry Shaun, it will be getting the full treatment when i get some waxoil

?? Why would you cover Shaun in Waxoil?! Surely that won't help protect your arches?? lol

I suppose waxoyl could be used as a paint on gimp suit but no thanks, that stuff's a nightmare to get off.

Not much to update.

Still pissing water out, found out it's from the expansion tank, second one i've changed!

Some little f**k*r stole the dice of my wheels!

Car got covered in sea weed, so had to be cleaned. Barnicles scraped off too

Needs to go lower and i think i may space the rear out my 5mm if i can be bothered..
