Since i have had the battery disconnected etc etc while fixing a starting problem my mfa has now got a number 4 displayed. When i press the buttom or move the selector it just stays. It used to work fine. I have not yet tried pulling the fuse because i dont know which one it is. Any ideas anyone?

Try removing the fuse for it.

i think its fuse 3 but double check.

Leave it out for 10 secs then replace.
should reset the MFA for you.

Take the fuse out as you are going to do but here's a little MFA website that you might want to save as a favourite for future reference. http://www.myscirocco.com/scirocco/mfa/engels/mfa_02.html
......now officially dubless.

On early cars (hazard on dash) the fuse is #3
On late cars (hazard on steering column) fuse is #21

Either way it tells you what the fuses do on the back of the fusebox cover.

Edit: Some people suggest you take the negative lead off the battery which also works :)
