Dubsport, I did get tempted but chose to choose the right path and let it rot further on it's own. Thankfully this should all be sorted by the end of the month, along with a satin paint job. Here's hoping....

I had a similar problem with mine, I cut all the rot and rust out with a grinder then fabricated a sill from sheet metal and got it welded in, that was cheap enough to be honest

True that.. to be honest I have known people who get repair pieces and a garage to weld them up and as Wayne says, it can cost a bomb!.... when my others half ford got pretty bad, a man we know cuts his own stuff to fit and and can do a job like that only costing double figures!

does depend how much more there is though.

Respect that Kirk, however cutting and welding the flat section is not the hard part, your looking at major fabrication and welding on the lower part plus when you look at how much metal you well need to cut back to see sound metal = major work.

I only hope your not thinking of bodging it.

The other question is with the electrical problems as well is it worth repairing.  :smiley:
