RCD500 vs RCD300
« on: 12 July 2010, 19:09 »
I have the RCD300 in my Mk5 which as has been said many times is pretty poor.

I also have the RCD500 in a Touran. Is this essentially the same HU with 6-disc changer, or would I benefit from sticking the RCD500 into the GTI?

Both cars are 07.
It's been a long time since I rock and rolled

Yes I think you would!

Golf plus 2005, Went from RCD300 to RCD510, now only use SD Card and "touch" radio. It is superb plus much better sound.

As car is 2005 and RCD510 a 2009, had to replace Can Gateway and had to reprogam.

Well worth it.

tip:-  (to stop CD Changer "hunting" insert one audio CD).
