ref the refurb i'd always thought it was almost impossible to get the shadows done right if it's the metal thats damaged, they're doesn't seem to be many forum members with happy endings.

Did a rubbish job, did them a second time and did an even worse job.
Really, avoid this company. Doing a bad job is one thing but their customer service in dealing with my complaints is just horrendous.
How horrible. Can you go somewhere else to get the job done satisfactorily?
I've got to give my car into the bodyshop tomorrow to get a dented bonnet fixed. They will probably wreck the car.
No I still need to get them done somewhere else but am very unhappy with Spit and Polish. If they bothered to reply to my emails then I wouldn't resort to commenting about their poor service but they haven't really given me an option.

Do these companies not realise that a bad reference in a forum such as this could have a negative effect on their business?
Or do they not care?
Or are they so secure in their knowledge that there is no competition?
Beggars belief.

There's not many companies doing diamond cut but really, these guys were just terrible, I can't begin to list the defects.

It took them nearly a week to reply to an email and now they have stopped communicating altogether even tough I have been polite and professional.

Still, I reckon I've already put a few people off so how will be the losers?? Not me......

It's a constant worry.
At present I have a bloody big dent on my bonnet which is making me feel sick.  100% my stupid fault.
Hope the bodyshop does not bugger other parts of the car.

Yeah I love detailing. I learn nearly every day, do lots of reading and lots of practise. I know my polishing machines well now and the limits of both. Really like the rotary, when before I was sh!t scared of it lol. But to answer your question, no, not a career for me I'm afraid. I'll just help friends & family etc. Dan and Guy are really good, lots of experience between them. I'm just a padwan

The shadows are a nightmare, if they are never touched they gleam, if they get scratched you can notice it a mile off. I had a hairline scratch on mine.... I used VW Karlack (clear coat) to fill it, a little jiggery pokery and used my dual action machine polisher on a low setting to blend it in, it worked a treat and you can never tell it was there.

I really wouldnt know what to do if the metal got scratched. As you say, if other members dont have happy endings then it may just be a matter of get a repair done 'get it as best you can' then live with it.

Jetseal should be awarded the medal of honour for the protection it gives

I've been putting jetseal inside my exhaust now... no I've not been drinking, but if you do this, when you polish up the outside of the exhausts you can then just wipe away the sh!t from the inside too  and they come up gleaming. quite why I'm telling you this I dont know. Ok I may have had a beer or two.  :embarassed:

Don't think about the scrape, it will only make you have nightmares. hehe.
