hi guys i have trouble getting 1st and 2nd gear is there anyway i can re aline the linkage ?? its not like the other gear box were you can use  two pins to set the gears? can anyone help

I don't know if this is helpful or not but i only had 3rd and 4th the other day. put a new part on and it's fine now and i've got all gears. couldn't tell you the name, but could get the part number. was £11 odd in vw.

Sounds like you may have worn gear linkage

I'm not sure. It's the part that's attached to the end of the two cables you can see in your picture. can give you the part number when i get home if that's any good. It did cure my problem of the lost gears though. The part i bought was under £12 with vat
