Radiator Fan

It could be blown fuse, if not you probably just need to replace the temperature switch in the radiator. It simply unscrews,it sits on the bottom right hand side of the rad (looking from the front of the car), just drain the coolant first.

i will check the fuse tonight, if not will try the temperature switch, how much are these?

its worth checking weather the fan spins or not. I found mine was seized and its much easier just to change the fan!!!

Yes true. The fans usually make a right racket before seizing up completely. The switch going wrong is quite common.

Remove the connector from the thermoswitch and connect the pins together on the connector using an opened out paper clip, This should spin the fan.

A stop gap measure and one I have used before is to fit a switch on the end of some wires and have it hanging in the window, when the temp gauge shoots right up you turn it on. and when it goes below mid way you turn it off. You can do the same under the bonnet but will need to keep popping it to get to the switch.

I always keep a switch in the glovebox just incase the thermoswitch goes when out and about.
