You could be right but VW make it sound differently on their Service regimes "This LongLife regime has been made possible due to the development of new Volkswagen engines with the latest technically advanced longlife oil"

Finally got in touch with Donny. They're doing it for £95 and I finally spoke to someone who vaguely had a clue.
Anyway, duly booked plus free courtesy car. Job's a good 'un, assuming they have mechanics who know what to do!!!!!

Agreed! They only treat me nice at hudds because I have had 3 cars into repair there... at a total cost of about 10k so they do like me

They are meant to only use LL/Synthetic oil, although there are some who still buy in semi-synthetic stuff. Looks like it all comes down to cost.
