The petrol gauge flies down in the mk6! Pretty sure it's just cos the scales massive though, I always end up doin a double take cos I think it's used loads but it's just an 8th of a tank gone!

Gents, I am about to collect my new GTI.  I mentioned to the dealer that I was assuming that the car would come with a full tank of petrol.  They said "you'll get what is in the car".  Given that I am spending around £30K on the car, have waited over 6 months for it to be manufactured/delivered and that they have had my deposit for that period of time, I was a bit surprised and disappointed by that answer.  What is your experience?

Thanks.

I can guarantee you will get a full tank of fuel when they explain about the customer satisfaction survey you start giving them a sh!t score say 3 out of 5 in each of the three questions they will give you a tank then. But you should of agreed it when you did the deal...........

Yes, I've heard about the customer satisfaction survey. They've told me that if I give them a bad score, they lose commission.  I don't want to "threaten" them with a bad score, but you'd have thought that they would not risk it just for a few pounds' worth of petrol.   :lipsrsealed:

So for the sake of filling your tank up a really bad score could cost them thousands.................. it is not fair on the dealer if you dont give them top marks if they really have been good. The customer satisfaction makes up a small percentage of there entire margin on all cars delivered in that qtr and certaibly us salesman are rewarded if we keep the score at %100. SO do the right thing and score them 100% and think next time I will negotiate a tank of fuel which at the end of the day is £60 or so and has to come from somewhere.

I've bought 2 VW's over the last 3 years brand new - and have never had a CS Survey.
Just as well for the dealer I would say  :lipsrsealed:
Golf R... 3 door, DSG, Leather, Reflex Silver, Black 19" Talladega Wheels, ACC, Parking Sensors, RNS510 with Dynaudio, Reverse Camera, Luxury Pack, Cruise Control & Fiscon Bluetooth.

When I picked up my car the sales guy mentioned the CS Survey, saying VW might be in touch, and how a less than perfect score would lose commission. It was all a bit cloak and dagger, outside the showroom in hushed tones.

Getting a free boot liner has never been so easy, and I never did get that call...
