Thanks all.  It seems to me like VW are not being very generous with customers who are paying them a considerable amount of money.

Lee do all dealers hand out a customer satisfaction survey?
I never received a thing.
There is nothing that VW give us to fill out when you pick up your car. But we like to make every customer aware of it, they try and contact most people that pick up a new car providing they have the right number in the first place ; ) and ask them 3 important questions to the dealer

Your overall satisfaction scored 1-5 top mark being completely satisfied
Would you recommend your dealer 1-5 top mark definitely
Would you repurchase from your retail 1-5 top mark definitely

We dealers have to keep this above 95% for the entire quarter other wise I think we either loose or gain around 0.75% of margin on every new car delivered from that business including fleet! So can have a massive impact. So there is a incentive for every dealer to make sure they look after the customers or if they give you a bad score then you will loose out. However loads of dealers got caught changing customers number and got fined tens of thousands. If you look after your customers and keep them informed however good or bad it is and they in return they give you top marks on the satisfaction survey your dealer can be more competitive over a sh!te dealer who doesnt look after them as they will have 0.75% more margin available.

Trust me if I had a customer not give me top marks I would feel personally let down as I will do everything I can for them whilst they have got a car on order, also I get £200 a month more if my score is 100% so I would fill your car for you ; ) providing it wasnt a touareg.

with mine the dealer pre-argreed to deliver it with a full tank on the original order.
on the day of collection the car had about a quarter tank - good on the agreement we drove it to the local BP and he filled it up with the dealer's fuel card
i think it lasted me about 2 weeks  :undecided:
also without asking i got a bottle of bubbly - so nice of the dealer - i still haven't opened it yet.

Evo, my dealer did exactly what you describe above and did mention that the dealership would lose money if they didn't get top marks. I gave them top marks because the salesman I dealt with couldn't have been more helpful and constantly kept me updated. OK, so they only gave me 10 litres of juice, but that's not a big deal, plus they gave me some discount on accessories I purchased; the overall experience was very good. I'll reserve judgement on after sales service until I've experienced more of it, but so far I have had good response to my questions and the front desk service dept ladies [and men] seem reasonably knowledgable on the product.

Well I had one when I picked mine up and I filled it out while I was there. They also said VW could ring you in the next few days just to see if you are satified with your purchase, they didn't. One of the blokes at work bought a new Polo a couple of years ago and VW rang him.

Oh I had a third of a tank showing on the gauge when I picked mine up.

After paying £54k for mine and I got a half tank when picking it up. I was happy about that it only had gone 6 miles though. :D

This is the first time I pick up a new car without a full tank of petrol. I had been waiting that long that I didn't bother to ask! Just drive down the road and fill the other half tank up with 98RON Shell Optimax!

I always wonder what they put in our tank when the car roll out from the factory gates? 95RON vs 98(RON) Good vs bad quality oil!
