hi mate as far as i believe there were only a certain amount made. there 230bhp standard where as the GTI was 200bhp. The ed 30 also comes fitted with a KO4 turbo which is bigger than the GTI KO3 which makes it more tuneable. as far as Im aware, an intake, exhaust and remap can push an ed30 into the 300bhp mark.

Im holding out for an ed30 over a GTI as Ive noticed theres not a lot more money between the two but its all personal choice really

Absolutely worth the extra  but then I'm biased as I have one

VW were supposed to make a limited run, but got carried away and made 2,300 instead of 1,500. The Pirelli Edition is also mechanically the same as the ED30, but much rarer (only around 230 made for the UK market)

The Edition 30 had 18" BBS Pescara alloys as standard over the 17" alloys on the GTI
ED30 had half leather interior with heated seats, electric lumbar support and red stitching as standard. Also darkened rear lights, fully colour co-ordinated bumpers and the all important K04 turbo.

When new VW asked just £1,700 more for the ED30 than the GTI, but now the ED30 is more than holding it's money against the market prices of the GTI.

At Stage 2+ with all the bolt-on's you are looking at 360+bhp for the Edition 30

Not only do they have a bigger turbo but I think they also look nicer. My budget couldn't stretch for an ED30 so got a standard GTI but a simple remap on a standard GTI will take it above the 230bhp of the ED30. If you can afford, get one. If not get a standard one a remap it. Mine ran 242 or something like that and tbh thats all the power I need / want going through the front wheels, don't need anymore. If you want more power through the front wheels you then need to spend serious money on LSD etc to be able to handle the power ( a la Hurdy :D )

DSG yes....

Manual , will last about 15k beofre having to uprate it for a tougher , more durable clutch.

You should need to be replacing the clutch. Why you ask?
