are all mk4 drive shafts cv joint the same ? help please

ok well my drive shaft cv joint is being a pain in the arese an seems we cant find a solution

are all driveshafts in the mk4 1.8t the same?

we tried the diesel one that was too short the standard 1.8t one is too long

its keeps muckng up the cv joint

so what can i so to rectify the problem please help i would actuallylike my car back this century

If you lower the car you are altering the geometry of the drive shaft in relation to the hub which in effect lengthens it slightly in relation to it's position rather than the physical size of the shaft

im thinking im just gonna have to bite some of my pride an raise her up a bit

its either raise suspension or raise the engine to take the stress off the cv joint

By CV joint im guessing you mean Outer CV joint as theres an Inner. And size as in width/essential length are all the same but dependent on what engine model the diameter of the CV is different - I.e wrong one wouldn't even fit onto the driveshaft splines.

Can i ask what CV's your using ? The 5 speed shaft spliners are smaller than 6 speed, when i had 5 speed i shattered them all the time but they were from motor factors.  You using Genuine ones?
