The number of claims in the cold winter has bumped up premiums. Mrs Horney's Fiesta insurance went from £110 to £280 even after days of shopping around.

It definitely pays to shop around. Then use a site like quidco.com
I've just got my Mrs insurance from Aviva and have £70 cashback from quidco just for linking through them.
I see they are down to £45 though

I have a touran also, last year the golf was cheaper than the touran, the touran is £230 fully comp this year which is only £10 more than last year.I think like nick said insurance has gone up across the board this year but seems the Golf gti mk6 is going up at a faster rate than most. :undecided:

I'm based in Shoreditch, London. Costs me just on £1k. Using the comparison engines, I figured out that having not been born in the UK accounts for a £200 premium yet my license is UK issued, no points, never claimed on insurance.

I'm a member of the advanced institute of motorists and incredibly it has no impact on my premium either. You gotta love actuaries.
