idle speed
« on: 01 June 2010, 11:55 »
how long should it normally take the idle speed to return to normal after a throttle body clean on an agu? Probably covered about 30 miles since it was done but the idle is getting higher, now goes up to about 1500rpm when sat it traffic?

have you run an adaptation via VAG COM on the throttle body?

it needs an adaptation really. Was it a VW garage that couldn't get VAG COM to work?

No, was my local vag place jbs. Although i've read mixed opinions on whether the agu can be reset or not with vag-com?

yes it can, I have just done mine. It's mixed opinions on whether it does it with the door open trick. It makes the right noises though so give it a go

Put your car into 2nd stage ignition with the door already open but DO NOT START IT. You'll hear the throttle motor buzzing. Leave everything alone (especially the throttle pedal) until the buzzing stops and see how you go after that.
