Rev counter for a Mk2 Driver?
« on: 12 December 2004, 23:03 »
I've just got a 1989 Mk2 Driver 1.6 carb, but it's got a clock where the rev counter should be.
does anyone know if these would work in place of the current guages?

Yes :)

But only if your car has the 2 plug clock type:
Hazard switch on dash = old CE1 = 2 plugs
Hazard switch on steering column = new CE2 = 1 plug

You can swap your old speedo into the new clocks easily, just a few screws and you need to swap the 'L' shaped circuit board and a small electrical sender screwed into the back of the GTI cluster, yours will have a planking plug over the hole which you just push out!

Sorry to bump an old topic but I didn't think it was worth starting another one :P

Does anyone know if it's possible to fit a set of clocks with a rev-counter to a 1990 1.3 Golf?

Thanks :)
