The GTD is a brilliant car , Its better than the gti by far , bring on the comments from the GTI boys!!

Do I detect gratuitous provocation here? The GTI has crap fuel economy and range (I barely get 400 miles between fill-ups), but I do feel slightly superior whenever I go past a GTD

The GTD is much more superior every way also white is the fastest coulor , bring it on  

Yeah definetly, i currently have a MK5 GT Sport, 3 door, white and i love the colour. I could'nt possible have changed colour when getting the GTD!!

If you like sticking a bloody expensive nozzle in your pipe regularly, then go for the first two.
For sensible fun, go for the GTD + DSG. I have driven one and it is superb.

I just upgraded the light's with nightbreakers , gives a bit more light at nighttime!! I wont be doing any re-maps

Yea why not , but you may invaldate your warrenty ?? You should get about 30-40 bhp try revo !!
