Interlagos (genuine ones not reps) also sit a little proud of the front arch.

Yes, you're right, though I don't think mine stick out as much as the above. It could just be the photo, or the angle that's exaggerating it, I suppose...

Would the tracking need to be reset with the wider wheel/different offset?

Not unless you went silly wide or extreme offset or if it was marginal anyway. It's only once you start disturbing suspension components by lowering that the tracking and camber/castor starts going way out of toe.

Completely different angle and a bit of a lame shot, but here's how much my front 'sits out'.

Gossa,

Your Rep v my Monza, see pic below.........Sorry bored at work!

Is it the tyre that makes it stick out a bit? What tyre make and size is it?

The wheels are a bargain though and IMO they really look good. I'm tempted to by some. Do you get any sort of warranty or paper work with rep wheels? Did you tell your insurance?

Thanks mate

I'd say it is more the angle the picture was taken at as the silver one is more straight down the length of the vehicle whereas the red is at a definite angle. Probably enough to make the tyre / wheel appear to stick out even more.

It definately looks more tyre sidewall related. On my 8x18 BBSs which were ET44 (thus very similar to the R reps in dimensions), I initially had Conti 2s which sat nice and square on the rim. When 2 wore out I replaced them with Conti 3s 'cos I couldn't get hold of 2s cheap enough. I thought being from the same stable they would sit more or less the same but that wasn't the case. The Conti 3s had big rim protectors and these made the tyres sit very similar to Gossa's.
So I reckon it's a tyre thing.

They look really nice whatever. Would look a bit nicer again in black against the red car, so being reps they'll probably want a re-paint after a while (not that many OEM wheels fare that much better in that area) and that's the time to experiment with colours.

I sell bikes and some of the best ones in the world are made in China, most bikes in the tour de france this year will be made in, yep, China.  I had a good look at the wheels before buying them, the quality is fine and more than acceptable for £300.

Those front tyres are Michelin Pilot Sport 3 and they don't stuck out that much, probably only a tad more than the 235's on the R.

Anyways, Monzas off to Spit and Polish Tuesday and Vredestein Sessantas delivered today so a week or so and i'll have the Monzas (the best wheel ever for a GTI) back where they belong!

Had you kerbed all the Monzas?
Or,
Do they have a higher level than normal of wear and tear?

I have to be honest, I kurbed one slightly but she did a much better job on two others!!! So three down I thought i'd just get them done. As for tyres, replaced the front Dunlops at about 11K with PS3's but gonna keep those tyres on the rep wheels and put four new Sessantas on the Monzas (amazing looking tyre!)

I agree. Quite a looker. I never thought I'd say this about a tyre!
Designed by Ital Design: Guigiaro.
Supposed to be a brilliant all weather tyre.
Just read that VW have now taken a controlling stake in Ital Design who employ 900 staff.
