Toyo R888's
« on: 24 May 2010, 14:05 »
Just a heads up for anyone looking for some in 195/50 R15 GG flavour. Tyre Traders have them a £75. That's bout £50 a tyre cheaper than Camskill.

Now apparently Tyretraders are no longer an authorised dealer so either they are out of stock and it's an old listing or they're selling off old stock. Either way I've ordered a pair and I'll post up if they actually arrive!

Well they've tried to deliver but I'm at work so I'll have to pick them up from the DHL depot tonight or tomorrow. Bit of a pain they only deliver to the cardholders address but oh well.

Got em and they are the correct tyre. Well chuffed.

Danny, I'd go for slicks if you can mate. Lots of folks have said T1R's are great in the wet/damp but get destroyed through over heating on a full on dry/hot day.

I had T1R's on at Combe last year and they survived the day (wet morning dry afternoon). The same set have also done a couple of other trackdays as well (mostly wet mornings and drier afternoons). Can't be trying hard enough.

Has anyone looked at or tried or read any reviews on the new Toyo R1R's (semi trackday tyre)

allready hve the slicks and tthe tr1's  thats why there my ony choices.

but a littel bird tells me that if you run slicks on trackdays the marashals are more anal than normal esp at coomb.  apparently you have tro have cage in and it be bone dry otherewise you can't play.

may be very tempted to just run with the toyo tr1's if the cage isn't in tho.    as marshalls do get upset with you overtaking in corners and thats where the syncro make's most ground and if allowed would overtake most stuff.   so thinking if i have  less grip i'll be slower but maybe more fun
