poly carbonate or perspex???

which one to use to replace the glass on my mk2?????
MK4 GTI T AGU, REVO Remap, BMC carbon box, Miltek cat back, Forge diverter valve, THS FR3 engine/Gbox mounts, Some random alloys, lowered on coilovers.

Polycarbonate and Perspex are the same weight. Polycarbonate should be stronger and you shouldn't be able to crack it with a hammer or similar, Perspex should withstand the hammer blows but will eventually crack if you keep at it.

I would say Polycarbonate is better that perspex, as its so much stronger

Polycarb.  Perspex is nasty and easy to shatter in comparison.

Looks like i need to find some sheets of polycarbonate then, ah wel give me something to do :smiley:

Cheers DH, been nice and local aswell, been looking into buying the materials and making them myself, so i will see what happens with that.

i made my own,

hardest thing is fitting the rear window, if you cut it to the same size as the hole it's easy to fit but it may wobbel, so cut it to the same size as the glass out of the rear windown,  thins makes fitting it somewhat more intresting as you have to force the curve into it whiles fitting but once fitted it stays and won't wobbel
all the VW's have gone bar 1.
