Someone made it....Might have a god at making one with a spare rad hose and thin hose when I pick up the old car parts from the IOW.

I'll have a word with my technology teacher at college and see if he has any bit's of pipe that could be used and if we could weld a smaller outlet.

Quick question RJ, the coolant temp sensor is part number 026 906 161 or is it 049 919 501?

The 161 is a 2 pin white and the 501 is 1 pin black. Guessing it's the 2 pin white right?

2 pin white one, with M10x1 thread. 1 pin black is for the dash temp gauge

someone help me before I drive the car off a cliff. Changed the fan switch and it's still overheating. RJ, I know you've said that it should get to 3/4 of the gauge, but with the 8v engine it was kicking in when it read 90. It would NEVER move off 90 C when warm, be it on motorway or in traffic.
When I shut it off temp was at about 105C and the hoses where pretty solid with the pressure. Left it to cool down as I don't want a blown HG or hose. Please someone shed some light!

I'm just going to make this my problems thread....

With regards to the idle, it's still bouncing up and down. When I turn the ignition on the ISV buzzes as I said in my other thread. Earlier I started the car when hot, it struggled to live and it died down. Took a few cranks to start it up again/ Then later on started it up again and if I pressed the accelerator it would bog down, pressed it harder and bogged down even more, then died. Started up again and fine....Please someone help before I go mad

I *think* it's the coolant temp sensor. I think it might be over reading hence showing 105 and fan not kicking in. However, I've never seen the hoses under so much pressure or hissing from every possible joint like I have today, and they were very hot to the touch, so I think the 105C reading could be genuine....At the moment I'm confused and so so so annoyed at the car. It idles like a pig and overheats when stopped. Just uploading a video now showing idle problems.
