Can't be bothered reading the R forum. Looks a bit dull and boring IMO. Have a much better time here! :wink:
Anyway, they are brastards if they are being horrible.
I love the R to bits, but I love my GTi even more! :laugh:

Agreed...but I find a GTI also a lot of car for its money...(especially a remapped one :laugh:).... :evil:

I cannot name a lot of affordable (same price-range)  cars with a combo of speed and luxury... :wink:

After doing some rough calculations, the GTi is possibly better value for money than the R. VW have probably overpriced the R by around £1000. However, this is not unusual as the 'law of diminishing returns' is very liberally applied by most manufacturers.

When i nearly cancelled my GTI order due to my so helpful dealer. I looked at the golf R and worked out it would cost me 10K more than i was paying for the GTI, I also looked at the scirocco R and actually liked it more than the golf R. But thats a personal thing.
I decided then to see what panned out as for 10K i can always buy a nice used 4x4 car for the times the 2WD may struggle ie winter as it snows abit up these hills.
