Do the K-jets have the little coil related box on the ECU heatshield (I know they don't have an ECU but the carb models still have the heatshield with a little box and a wiring plug on them.) Its common for this to cause no spark on the carb models. If yours has this then I have a few working spare ones. If its stinking of fuel then I hope for your sake its got no spark, then it could only be a few things, like plugs, leads, dizzy, coil etc, all fairly cheap items.

Is this SPi? Sorry I haven't really flicked right through.

If it is, check the throttle body injector, same symptoms as my dads, stank of fuel, turned out the injector had moved up and was dumping fuel straight in off the fuel pump.

Where all my moneys went.

What is spi dude? Edit. Single point injection? No its kjet

I think the thing you two are on about is attached to the offside suspension mount.

Had a go at firing it up last night and we nearly got there but the battery was failing. Hooked it up to jump leads and it fired but only 1 cylinder. Eventually got 3 going then let it warm up and the fourth fired.

Then it stalled! When i struck it up again my mate spotted the plug leads sparking. Bingo

just a very brief update. a few pages back i mentioned swapping the eibach rear springs for some chopped mk3 ones as i had suspected the eibachs had gone soft. at the time the roads were a mess so couldnt tell how it had affected the handling.

it has now had a couple of twisty drives. and it feels the same! so i suspect either a, rear sus makes very little difference or more likely b, the eibach springs are goosed and therefore performing as well as chopped mk3 driver springs!
