Sat in the car right now and it's up to temp. Been running 10 mins and idling the same. Temp needle is just to the right of half way, heater is on full, as is blower. No misting on the screen. All air is directed at screen.

mine would only mist up for 30 seconds before clearing, when the car was up to temp and the heater was then switched on.

i imagine all the steam was building up in the heater box before releasing it by sliding the heater control over (thus opening the box allowing the steam to escape)

in other words you can run it all you like once its up to temp but it will only steam up for the first few seconds upon opening the heater box (with a hot matrix)

oh and k-seal is a better version of bars leaks :afro:

I don't think a semi will give the same results

quick update as its been on the road a while.

first off i am having too many issues with the wheels. they are still scrubbing the plastic arch trims and its doing my head in. i really dont want to attract attention from the law and get points for wheels interferring with the body.

been having a look at the options.

1. different wheels. this is the easiest short term solution. i have a set of bbs rx2 split rims on the wife's polo estate so i will rob them for now

2. wider arch trims.  dont want to start looking at custom bodywork to be honest

3. i have about 10mm clearance between the inner edge of the wheel and the shock. if i got 5mm machined off the back of the spacers then i think i would have enough clearance.  if i am wrong i can fit spacers to get back to where i am

4.  fit boxster wheels as they are 8.5" and same offset. 1/4 of an inch chould do it.

5. beat up caistorbmx and steal his car.

6. stick to my guns with these wheels and locate a pair of fronts. this is my favoured option. i can get the stance by spacing the rears out a bit but they wont hit the arch and i wont be running stratch. the overall look of the car should remain. this is the best option but i am soooo impatient!

7. 17" mini cooper split rims with spacers??

so just remind me, what size are the wheels? i was thinking of running 8j all round but dont want arch issues like you! My arches have previously been rolled.

I favour the number 5 option   Im not sure if you really need to beat him up though, just steal his car would be enough damage

9x17 et53 (minus 20mm apters so really et33) there's say 5mm clerance before the shock so you could go to et28 and i'd get 8's under without problem i think!
