Quick update

Took the TIP off earlier and the turbo shaft spins freely with only a tiny bit of side to side play (which it has always had) and no in/out play so the turbo seems fine. I'm still a little stumped TBH but I'll be pulling the manifold off this week to replace the oil feed pipe with a known working one and just to generally check over the oil way

Had a little play with the bearing carrier tonight and got rid of the surface rust on them and tapped out all the threads

before

after

just waiting for the bearings to arrive and I'll get them pressed in

This is as far as I've got at the mo, ordering new mani and turbo gaskets tomorrow and oil pipe is on the way, as soon as I have some free time I'll get it over my mates pit and start pulling it apart (again)

thanks mate.

Just waiting for the gaskets to arrive now so thought I'd sort out the gearknob as it arrived yesterday

Quite subtle and in keeping with the OEM feel of the interior

Yeah I know mate. I'm taking them out soon and giving them a good wash with my Vax. Was just waiting until the threat of puke was a bit lower lol

Decided it was about time I got the sump off to change oil pick up pipe. Not ever had a problem with the oil but it's another thing off my mind. So bought this little lot ready to be done at the same time as my service

I've also bought some TT splash guards and new bolts for the hubs. Didn't realise the splash guards were so expensive new (£30 EACH!!) otherwise I'd have found some second hand. Anyway lesson learnt

Lastly won these on ebay for £20 delivered

Got a spare rub strip to fit them to so will make a template up as soon as they arrive

Hope yours is slightly more clogged than mine was! Completely backhanded compliment as mine was still clean as the day it was made and felt like I'd wasted a few hours of my life!

I suppose knowing its all good though is well worth a few hours of your time
