Thank you JV

Right The .:R32 will be going to the new owner this sat 24th as long as he doesn't screw me! So for me I needed to find something that I could buy out right, I've had my Past 2 Mkiv's on Finance and well its just alot of money going out each month which well after 5 years a bit fed up of being skint!

Now they say you haven't had a GTI until you have owned a Mkii so will be picking this up on Saturday:

Now I feel that ive got myself a good car here at a good price and a good base to work with:

£1700
12 months MOT
142k on the clock
Stainless Exhaust
Lowered 40mm on Blisten shocks and springs
Full Cream leather interior
Electric windows / power steering
Full VW Service History from 91'
Loads of receipts for all the work thats been done on this car including Cambelt and water pump which was done 08' also has had a new starter motor as well.

The car was Garaged for 2 years think around 06' - 08' and in the last two MOT's its done about 2k miles

Now I have been told by the Seller about the History of this car as well. Was owned by Volksmania and they were going to break the car as it was in a right old state but a guy called Jamie (not sure if anyone knows who this is? ) saw it and told them he wanted it and would pay what ever they wanted for it. Then for the next few years he was up at volksmania buying parts to fix the car up the car was subsequently sold to Mitch (current owner) and well it will be going onto myself. Dont knwo how much of this is true but form all the receipts and work done its been looked after / put back in working order.

Now There are a few things that need attention:

* Full re- Spray in Oak Green - Car being 19yrs old there are a few dings here and there and chips / surface bubble rust here and there but on the whole nothing to extreme that cant be fixed

* Smooth rear Tail gate - Going to source a new Tailgate as im not a big fan of the smoothed look

* Straighten bumpers - seems to be some misalignment so need to investigate this to see if its just a case of the clips etc that hold the boot need replacing or playing with

* Drivers seat bolster - Has a tear so needs to be replaced - would ideally like to try and find some genuine Mkii Recaro seats ;)

Its a project so with time and money will be able to slowly sort this one out :)

Sale of the .:R32 went very well and was sold this morning, picked up the mkii this afternoon

Needs a few things looking at straight away:

Throttle: very stiff might need a new throttle cable but have got handy with the WD40 see if that can help make it less stiff!

Steering wheel needs to be aligned properly, tracking is fine but the steering wheel its self is off centre

Front bumper is held at the bottom by two zip ties so need to look into what the feck is going on there but got a feeling new bumper is going to be on the list, but for now its just good to have a car!

I know I bought this car as a bit of Project but this is silly and what a f**king day I had yesterday!

First off giving my brother a lift to his rugby club change gear and then the clutch pedal just hit the floor! At this poit we had to get out and push the car to the side of the road, My brother was on his way to go on his rugby tour and at the time was dress as  a baywatch babe just funny as f**k as he was in this swimsuit with flip flops blonde wig the works! Then discovered that the clutch got caught on a bit of trim plastic! So panic over on we go.

Had the car no more than 24 hours and had an accident, don't know what happened all i know is the spare wheel on the back of the 4x4 in front has said hello to the bonnet of the mkii, just f**king speachless!

Im not going to put photos up as its just not right!, the RAC came out and had to open the bonnet with a crowbar, there are no leaks, head lights aren't broken, nothing else broken aside the obvious the car still runs and works just looks a mess! I have already ordered a new Throttle cable as the pedal was very stiff.

Had to get recovered home £150 as I was in Sailsbury, went on ebay last night and managed to source a oak green Bonnet in good condition, o/s wing has a little dent and some paint flaked off but one of the first things i was going to do is get a respray so i can live with that for now, just trying to source a big front bumper as the one that was on was a bit knackered anyway!

Spoke to my Mate chris who lives 5mins walk away and going round his later hes got a Mkii Slam pannel I can have and a few other bits im going to look at!

I feel like a total wally but this has kick started the work faster than i expected! My mate is coming round this morning and we are going to take the bonnet off and straighten it as best we can just so it bloody shuts!

sh!t happens and now its time to fix it

Went round my mates and picked up the slam panel and Quad light grill, the lights weren't damaged in the accident but bought a new set today as well, just need to wait for the bonnet and then can get things back in order!

New Throttle Cable arrived yesterday, going to fit it today. Think I need to get the car to a garage as well the steering Has been affected so im sure the tracking has been put right out by the crash. First going to get the new slam panel and bonnet fitted when it arrives then can book the car in and get it checked over. There is a bit of a squeak now when on full lock so assuming something with the PAS has been knocked / damaged

New Throttle cable against the nasty old stiff rusty one!

Well after about 10 mins of being a fool and trying to thread the throttle cable blind realized i could remove the top trim and actually feed it through! Now had to use some baby zip ties to keep the rubber grommet at the top so the pedal had enough tension to stay in the right place

Finally the Bonnet arrived today!

its in pretty much mint condition! and in Oak green which was even better so £90 well spent there but £90 i shouldn't of had to spend! oh well now i can get to work with taking the front end off and changing over the slam panel and getting this car back to its former glory!

Finally sourced a standard rear tailgate in oak green! The guy wants a crate of beer so happy to do the swap few little scratches here and there but perfect for what I want means i can get rid of the flush tailgate and the stupid number plate on the bumper!

getting there slowly but surely
