new and need help
« on: 21 April 2010, 19:18 »
Hi All, I have just bought a golf GTI (don't know anything about cars bought it cos it was pretty , yes i am a girlie). Got it home and the information about the radio is missing.  I have been told that it might be possible to connect my phone via bluetooth to the radio.
Does anyone have a 'simple' answer/help that i could follow to do this.

I have just place the above on the newbies bit and have been directed here.
I have a Golf GTI mk 5.  57 reg, the car section part of the 'manual' thing is missing and I have been told that i may be able to bluetooth my phone through the radio (its factory fitted radio).  there are no instruction with the car.  Does anyone know if this is possible and if so how do I do it.
Please give instructions for dummies!

thanks in anticipation
niknik

Just off the top of my head and previous experiance of driving newer cars with Bluetooth capability. Your going to need to know for certain that your "stock" radio has the option of Bluetooth it should say in the manual that came with the car.

Your going to need to go through the settings on your car stereo and find the phone options or hands free options which ever it displays and ask it to "pair the device" (i.e your mobile phone)..at this point make sure the Bluetooth is on, on your mobile phone and search for the car stereo. Select to connect to it and it will prob ask you for a code which the stero its self should have displayed on the screen infront of you and one you have paired to it you "should" be connected.

Hope this helps, bare in mind again this is just off the top of my head just play around with the stereo until you find some options :)

Thank you.  I have tried searching, and it does not seem to pick up bluetooth so i guess this car does not have it.
Thanks for your help
