how can i tell if its been mapped ?

It might well "feel" as quick as your Clio as the turbo kick makes it feel faster which your Clio wouldnt have had.

even so it feels quick might have something to do with a closer ratio gear box i have in mine that alot of other mk4 dont have

Unplug the connection to the N75 then drive it, if the car feels a bit slower then its not mapped, if it feels a "lot" slower then its mapped.
