hate this car ...sump plug stuck

Hi, my sump plug is stuck!  I have just had some serious force on it with a hell of a lever bar, and it just will NOT shift!!  Its starting to round off now!  :sad: :sad: :sad: :sad:

Any one had this problem before? I cant get my manky oil out  :angry:

I wonder if its been cross threaded when the oil was changed the last time. Try a good set of stillsons on it and see if that grips it and undoes it. If not then you may have to get it drilled out.

Weld a bigger nut on it, if it is crossthreaded then you going to need to sort the threads.

mine was a right thingy!!!
I'm glad I've been weight trying for last 2/3 years. lol I had two foot bar and got on my back to pressed it up. It took as much force to bench 120kg!  :laugh:

i drove mine to kwik fit and had it up on the ramp. got a mahoosive torque wrench on and it finally came off.

^ Shouldn't undo things with a torque wrench.

You can try Irwin/Snap-On nut extractors, they work well but you need to hammer them on and obviously you can't go mad on a sump!

I'd try and to as Wayne suggested and weld on a bigger nut. :)
Golf MK3 1.8 auto and I didn't pay a grand for the "priveledge" :grin:, auto windows all round and a AC. Oh and I've got a luggage net you pricks!

Does that make my willy look bigger?

Oh yeah it's called Helda or something....

Ah ok i had a 4ft breaker bar on it  :grin:

I have a set of snapon extractors at work, i will try my impact gun first, of not, sump off jobby!

i had the same problem mate about 6months ago sump nut would just not let go  :angry:

i heated the nut up until red hot with map gas (which took a long time)  then hammered a 14mm socket over it, waited until it cooled then a nice long bar and it came out easy  :smiley:

i have never ever had a tight sump plug. if its ever tight, its usually im trying to undo it the wrong way...
